Cory Gold Bar Mitzvah - April 4, 2009  

William Corum (“Cory”) Gold

will be called to the

Torah as a Bar Mitzvah

on Saturday, April 4, 2009

at 10:30 a.m.

at Mizpah Congregation.

 

Cory is the son of Barry Gold and Tera Corum Sanders of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is the grandson of Donald L. Gold and the late Sandra B. Gold of Columbus, Georgia, and Ellie Corum-Mitchell and the late William L. Corum, Jr. of Ringgold, Georgia. Cory’s sister, Abby, is a junior at Baylor School.

 

Cory attends Baylor School, where he is in the seventh grade. He plays tennis, and percussion in the Baylor School intermediate band. Cory also enjoys playing guitar, ping-pong, Airsoft, and spending time with his friends and his German Shepherd dog, Mac.

 

Cory’s family invites the Jewish community to share in their joy as Cory becomes a Bar Mitzvah. Everyone is also invited to a Kiddush luncheon at Mizpah Congregation in Cory’s honor, immediately following the service.

Karen Simon Bat Mitzvah - Friday, November 2nd  

 

Karen Simon become a Bat Mitzvah at Mizpah Congregation on Friday, November 2nd at 6:00pm. 

Karen, and her husband Sid moved to Hixson from San Mateo, California in July 2003.  She works at North Park OBGyn in Hixson.

Karen was born and raised in Buffalo, NY until her graduation from The State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo.  Growing up Karen belonged to Temple Beth Zion, a congregation that did not perform Bat Mitzvahs.  She points to herself as proof that you are never too old to have a Bat Mitzvah.

Karen enjoys reading, walking, cooking, and traveling to visit with family, which no includes three great neices and a great nephew.

She looks forward to having her family present for her simcha.  Her Torah reading will be from the Book of Genesis, Chaye Sarah. 

2007 Bar and Bat Mitzvah's  
 
Eliot Samuel Berz become a Bar Mitzvah on Saturday, June 30th, Eliot is the son of Tracye Pool and Bob and Jane Berz.  He is a rising eight grader at McCallie School.  Eliot's favorite subjects are Science and Art.  He plays shortstop for the McCallie seventh grade baseball team and is a former Dixie Youth All-Star.  Eliot enjoys kayaking and other outdoor activities.

Jordan Leigh Kahle will became a Bat Mitzvah on Saturday, July 7th. Jordan is the oldest daughter of Rob and Annette Kahle. Her grandparents are Lenny and the late Judy Scheinberg of Simpsonville, S.C.; and Robert and Matilda Kahle of East Brunswick, N.J. Jordan’s sisters are Megan, 11, a rising sixth grader at Signal Mountain Middle School and twins, Brenna and Samantha, six, rising first graders at Nolan Elementary School.

 

 

Since her birth in New Brunswick, N.J., Jordan has lived twice in Greenville, S.C., had a second stint in New Jersey, and lived in Brownsburg, Ind., before moving to Signal Mountain last July. She is a rising eighth grader at Signal Mountain Middle School, where her favorite subject is English, and—she jokes—riding the bus home. She plays saxophone with the school band and takes private piano lessons. Jordan loves to read and play softball.

 

 

Jordan and her family will welcome family and friends from around the country when she becomes a Bat Mitzvah on July 7th at 10:30 a.m.

Michael Taylor Goldblatt is the son of Shelton and Susan Goldblatt. Grandparents are the late Genevieve Goldblatt, Sam Goldblatt of Chattanooga, Regina Davis of East Ridge and Al Rymer of Delano.  His brother Ethan is 9 years old.  Taylor is a rising 8th grader at Chattanooga School for Arts and Sciences.  He loves drawing, landscaping, playing violin, travel and spending time playing with his two dogs,  His  Bar Mitzvah will be on July 28 and the congregation is invited to attend.
